Experience
I am currently a second-year medical student with some experience teaching. I was a marine naturalist and lab technician for 3 years in California, where I helped deliver intertidal ecology and basic biology presentations to the public. I spent two years teaching patrons about astronomy as a "starmaster" at the Kiwanis Chico Community Observatory. Outside of the sciences, I took many philosophy courses which required extensive essay-writing. Courses I have taken include Philosophy of Sex and Love, Philosophy of Science, Philosophy of Justice, Ethics in Computer Science, Medical Ethics and Introductory Philosophy. I received B+'s or A's in all listed courses. Currently I am working towards becoming a psychiatrist. I am the recipient of the Medical Student Training in Aging Research grant with a focus on neuroscience, and I am active in on-campus clubs.
