Experience
I am familiar with difficulties that children face with education. All through my academics, I worked extra hard to achieve my goals. I have ADD, which has caused me to have to develop learning strategies that were effective. I find that I like to teach my students that they need to have a thorough understanding of the material instead of just cramming for their tests. My students will learn the material from the ground up. This means that they will start with the basics and slowly work their way up to the more complex parts of the material. To help them with this, I will use various analogies, metaphors, and some flash cards.I have found that associating visual images helps process subjects the student is learning. I work with students to develop effective organizational skills. I teach the student how to take notes effectively and teach him or her critical thinking skills by doing the work with them. I am flexible and I know what areas a student is experiencing difficulty in.Some of the course work that I do well in includes Spanish, English, social studies, languages, college essays, essay editing, literature, phonics, writing, and reading. I also do well with government, study skills, and grammar and mechanics.In my free time, I enjoy writing, drawing, music, exercising, building things, architecture, and hanging out with my friends.
