I am a small-town Texas girl, and my parents taught me the value of hard work, integrity, and honesty from an early age. I earned my bachelor's degree in Business Administration in Marketing at Texas Tech University. I then turned my focus to the hard work of educating the next generation. I worked as an elementary school teacher for 13 years in public schools, primarily focusing on the 4th grade. I can work with young students on nearly any subject they struggle with, but my favorite subject to help students in is mathematics. Elementary math, like arithmetic, is not easy for everyone; however, I try to make this tough subject enjoyable as well as meaningful for my students by teaching according to the individual child's learning style. I can also work with my students on reading skills, Independent School Entrance Exams and other standardized test preparation, and English. As a veteran teacher with experience administering standardized tests and teaching students the subjects they need to succeed, I have a proven record of successfully helping students move into the next grade level. When I'm not teaching or tutoring, I love to read. There's nothing like a good book! I also love to make cards, especially with rubber stamps.
