I'm a Fort Worth, Texas native who recently earned my Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from the University of Texas at Austin. I also hold a certification in business foundations. While attending the university, I helped freshman students with chemistry and pre-calculus for the College of Natural Sciences. I'm currently pursuing certification in the state of Texas to teach science and math to seventh graders through high school seniors. I am also adept at tutoring students in reading, chemistry, biology, algebra, literature, calculus, public speaking, microbiology, life sciences, and writing. I additionally am capable of helping students with test preparation, specifically SAT, SSAT, STAAR, PSAT, ACT, and the GED.My teaching philosophy centers on creating a fun, accessible, and relevant learning environment for everyone. It's my goal to give my students the confidence and tools to showcase their skills and knowledge in any situation. My approach takes the big picture into account, helping students develop a procedural framework for recalling information and linking concepts. As an individual who writes for fun, I find it very rewarding to help students refine their critical reading skills and polish their essay structures. When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy reading, gardening, baking, and playing video games.
