Education

University of Central Florida - BA, Spanish

Experience

My passion for language helped me graduate summa cum laude in two degree fields: first, a BA in Spanish, then a BA in Communication Sciences and Disorders, both from the University of Central Florida. I have traveled in Puerto Rico and lived in Spain for some time in order to improve my Spanish with native speakers. As a tutor, I have worked with nearly every age group, from very young preschoolers to adults. I tutor Spanish and English, focusing on conversational and written grammar, language pronunciation, and reading comprehension in both languages. My favorite part of being a tutor is seeing the student's expression when a concept finally clicks into place. Tutoring means I get to work one-on-one and in small groups, so no one feels lost in a crowd. I also get to watch the "ah ha!" moment for many of my students when I work so closely with them. I have worked hard to become not just proficient, but fluent, in Spanish, and I want my students to have the same great experiences with learning a new language that I had.
